Prices

Per-session prices at The Blackbird Wing, Lymington — pay per visit, no packages, no pressure

Every price below is per session. Laser tattoo removal is a gradual process — the laser breaks the ink down and your body clears it between visits — so most tattoos need a course of sessions spaced several weeks apart. You pay as you go: no packages, no upfront commitment, and if your tattoo clears faster than expected you simply stop sooner.

These are the same prices you'll see when you book, straight from our booking system.

What will my total cost be?

Total cost = price per session × number of sessions. The number of sessions depends on your ink, your skin and where the tattoo sits on your body. Our free estimator uses the Kirby-Desai scale — the same scoring laser technicians use — to give you a personalised estimate in about a minute.

Pricing questions

How much does laser tattoo removal cost in total?

The total is the per-session price times the number of sessions your tattoo needs. A small, black-ink tattoo might need as few as 3–5 sessions, while large or colourful pieces can need 10 or more. Our treatment estimator gives you a personalised session estimate in about a minute, and at your consultation we will give you an honest in-person assessment — including whether removal is worth it for your tattoo at all.

Why do you price per session rather than a fixed total?

Because nobody can honestly promise a fixed number of sessions up front. How fast a tattoo clears depends on the ink, its depth, your skin and your immune system. Per-session pricing means you only ever pay for the treatment you actually have — and if your tattoo clears faster than expected, you stop paying sooner.

Do I have to pay for a consultation?

The consultation and patch test is £5, and it is required before your first removal session. It covers an honest assessment of your tattoo and a patch test, which tells us exactly how your skin and ink respond to the laser before we treat a full area.

How do you decide what size my tattoo is?

By measuring it at your consultation. As a rough guide: tiny is up to about 2×2cm (a coin), small up to about 5×5cm (a playing card), medium up to about 7.5×7.5cm (a palm), and large is anything bigger. If a tattoo sits between sizes, we will tell you which price applies before anything is booked.

Is fading for a cover-up cheaper than full removal?

Usually, yes — fading a tattoo enough for a new tattoo to go over it typically needs fewer sessions than removing it completely, often around half. If you are planning a cover-up, tell us at your consultation and we will aim for exactly the level of fading your new design needs.
